I illustrated concept art for if an animation studio decided to make a movie about a bittersweet Vietnamese fairytale of an ugly boatman and a beautiful, wealthy woman falling in love with him due to his flute playing. In the end, she sees his hideous appearance, and heartbroken after she rejects him, the boatman dies. Realizing her mistake, she apologizes to the spirit of the boatman who is finally allowed to pass away in peace.
